DAIICHI SANKYO
DAIICHI and SANKYO, two of Japan’s leading pharmaceutical companies, both of which look back on a long tradition in pharmaceutical research and development, in 2006 joined forces in order to become a “global pharma innovator”.
With the merger of equals completed in 2006, two pharmaceutical companies consolidated that both have a century’s worth of history in visionary, innovative activity.
The resulting new corporation Daiichi-Sankyo has 18,400 employees worldwide, 1,700 of them in Europe. The European headquarters are located in Munich, Germany.
The introduction of the rexx recruitment software took place immediately after the merger – at first only in the European headquarters in Germany. Bit by bit, rexx is being implemented as the standard solution for applicant management in all European subsidiaries. Thus, French and Italian are also among the languages in the user guidance provided by rexx besides German and English.
All countries work in the same system – but they have independent workflows and country-specific adaptations (as so-called “tenants”). The best thing about this: in an increasingly international pharmaceutical industry, candidates can be connected with each other via the rexx pool of applicants with a click of the mouse – only with the applicants’ consent, of course.
The interfaces to international employment websites integrated into rexx, such as Monster, Stepstone or national and/or specialist job exchanges from the pharmaceutical industry, make the job advertisement process significantly easier.
Daiichi-Sankyo uses the rexx cloud service for the software: the application runs in the highly secure rexx systems computer centre. Both the international career portal and the backend for the processing of job advertisements and applications are easily accessible through a browser. The company therefore does not require any of their own IT resources for use of the application – this makes international roll-out simple and ensures great acceptance in the HR and specialist departments.
